When purchasing water cartridge filters, it is crucial to ensure you select the right size filter for your system. DIY Pool Shop offers replacement filters for our cartridge filters to ensure optimal performance. It is recommended to replace the filter at the start of the summer season and every 3 months thereafter, or sooner depending on your needs and the condition of the filter. While some filter cartridges can be cleaned once before replacement, it's important to note that the filter will not function as effectively as a brand new filter. Over time, the fibers in the filter material can become clogged with particles, leading to a decrease in flow rates and potentially dirtier water.
